Cenagen selected EDYMAC to provide strategic and technical project development support for its Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)-to-methanol project in Kandos, New South Wales, Australia.

Following completion of FEL-1, EDYMAC supported Cenagen in evaluating and selecting a gasification technology from multiple suppliers, assessing each against the project's technical and deployment requirements.

EDYMAC also helped establish the strategy for selecting engineering partners, evaluating candidates against technical capability, technology access, financial strength, and ability to execute in Australia.

As the project advances through permitting and FEL-2 engineering, EDYMAC continues to provide strategic and technical advisory support, helping maintain alignment between the selected technology, engineering approach, and project objectives.

From FEL-1 completion to a defined path into FEL-2.

EDYMAC helps project developers make critical decisions that shape a FOAK project's trajectory before those decisions become expensive to change.

Strategic Alignment & Roadmap

Align company objectives, project requirements, and execution priorities following FEL-1 to establish a clear path into detailed project development.

Technology Selection

Evaluate competing technology suppliers against feedstock characteristics, process requirements, integration needs, deployment experience, and project-specific constraints.

Execution Partner Strategy

Develop criteria for evaluating engineering and delivery partners based on technical capability, technology access, financial strength, and in-country execution capability.

FEL-2 Technical Advisory

Provide ongoing technical oversight and interface management as the project advances through FEL-2 engineering, permitting, and technology integration.

Hands-On Through Every Step

Principal-level technical advisory through technology evaluation, execution-partner strategy, and FEL-2 development—keeping technical choices aligned with the realities of commercial deployment.

Gasification Technology Selection

Conducted a comparative evaluation of four gasification suppliers to identify the technology best suited to the project's MSW feedstock, process requirements, and deployment objectives.

Engineering Partner Strategy

Established evaluation criteria for engineering partners based on technical capability, access to proprietary technology, financial strength, and ability to execute effectively in Australia.

Project Strategy & Alignment

Advised Cenagen on project priorities and execution strategy following FEL-1, helping establish the decisions and workstreams required to advance into the next development phase.

FEL-2 Advisory

Provided ongoing technical advisory and interface support as the project progressed into FEL-2 engineering.

The valley of death between a working pilot and a commercial asset isn't crossed with optimism. It's crossed with disciplined decisions.

Strategic Impact & Project Outcomes

EDYMAC is supporting Cenagen to establish the technology and execution strategy required to advance from FEL-1 into FEL-2 and toward commercial deployment.

Technology Selection

Evaluated gasification technology suppliers and established a best-fit technology pathway for the project's MSW-to-methanol application.

Execution Partner Strategy

Established a framework for evaluating engineering partners based on technical capability, financial strength, technology access, and Australian execution capability.

Strategic Guidance

Aligned company objectives, technology choices, and project execution priorities to establish a clear development path beyond FEL-1.

FEL-2 Advancement

Continues to provide technical and strategic advisory support as the Kandos project advances through permitting and FEL-2 engineering.

The most consequential project decisions happen before the steel is ordered. By FEL-2, the cost of a bad decision is already rising. We help make the critical choices before they become locked in.
