BioVeritas selected EDYMAC to support FEL-2 development for a non-sterile mixed-fermentation-to-fatty-acids process for an undisclosed location in the United States.
The process produces fatty acids that can serve as a drop-in feedstock for the Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) pathway for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), creating an additional source of feedstock for a constrained market.
EDYMAC joined the BioVeritas project team at the start of FEL-2, working alongside the BioVeritas team and Bryden Wood to translate demonstration-scale process knowledge into a commercial-scale project design.
EDYMAC developed the operating framework required to support commercial deployment, including safety, staffing, operations, commissioning, and equipment reliability strategies, while contributing to the overall project design.
EDYMAC also supported host-site evaluation and developed the integration strategy for the preferred location, addressing the interfaces between the process and existing site infrastructure.
The result is a project development framework designed to carry the technology from demonstrated performance toward a commercially executable FOAK facility.
