Aries Clean Technology engaged EDYMAC to support commissioning of its redesigned and modified First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) facility in Linden, New Jersey, which gasifies bio-sludge into syngas.

EDYMAC supported the transition from construction turnover through commissioning, startup, and initial operations. The engagement included equipment readiness, commissioning planning, operator training, SOP development, and hands-on operational support.

EDYMAC reviewed and updated operating procedures, aligned equipment turnover with commissioning requirements, and verified system readiness—with particular attention to instrumentation and controls, including significant modifications to the as-delivered control system.

Working directly with the operations team, EDYMAC provided hands-on training in field equipment, plant operating principles, troubleshooting, and HMI operation.

The plant successfully gasified biosolids in Q1 2024. EDYMAC continued supporting operations and troubleshooting as the facility moved from startup toward sustained operation.

Rebuilt the Control Scheme

Identified limitations in the as-delivered control architecture that constrained reliable operation. Worked with the automation designer to develop, test, and implement a modular control approach combining sequenced operations with continuously operating equipment.

Coached and Trained the Operations Team

Provided hands-on training in field operations, equipment behavior, troubleshooting, and HMI operation to build operator confidence and establish the foundation for reliable day-to-day performance.

Led Initial Plant Startup

Supported initial plant operations in real time, resolving startup challenges as they emerged and helping transition the facility from commissioning into routine operations.
